As a (2-time) black belt in martial arts, my hands are registered as "lethal weapons".
Yet, I have the CONTROL, DISCIPLINE and WHEREWITHAL to KNOW when to "USE my Karate-knowledge--employing it ONLY in defense of my LIFE, my FAMILY and my COUNTRY".

Karate is a form of self-DEFENSE.
Through my 21+ years of "martial arts"-training, I've learned to "harness"/CONTROL my emotions--specifically "ANGER"--in/for certain occasions.
